About Us We started dancing as 18-year-olds in 1989 at a franchised dance school, where we quickly developed a passion for competitive Latin dancing. From that time, we moved across the country 12 times, always searching for the best possible instruction. After working at 15 dance schools, in 1998 we opened a Kalamazoo school called T&E Dance. This allowed us to combine the best teaching methods and techniques we had seen from all across the country. After teaching thousands of people and dozens of instructors, we understand what people are hoping to accomplish from their dance lessons. Being able to ballroom dance, in itself, has no value. Our mission, and the mission of our instructors, is to identify the benefits you’d like to achieve, and plan a personalized program to get you there. — Tom Shanley and Elaine Riddle

The utilization of our program is designed to be the most affordable way to learn. At Bolero’s Dance School, our teachers dance for a living. Often, a problem with your arms is caused by how you place your feet. Inexperienced hobby instructors can waste hours of time looking at your symptoms instead of fixing your core. All of our instructors will watch your progress and work in conjunction with your private instructor to give you the best instruction possible.
